Christ's Table
Christ's Table provides food for the hungry in our church and community. To date,
these have been mostly adults who have lost their jobs. There are often families
with children who are in need of help. Some of the people we see are not able to
work due to some disability. Each week we provide food to between 14 and 30 people.
We don’t turn anyone away. All of God's children are eligible for food. There
is room for everyone at Christ’s Table.
What can church members do to help?
We can accept any type of food donations-rice, powdered milk, pasta, canned vegetables,
canned meats, canned fruit, etc. Food that can be eaten right away and food that
needs to be cooked are both needed. So far, we have NOT needed baby food.
If you would care to give a financial donation, make checks payable to St. Paul’s
United Methodist Church and write Christ’s Table on the memo line. Food is
collected continuously. You may leave it in the Narthex on Sunday mornings or in
the church office during the week. Donations of food will never go to waste. If
there is more food in our pantry than the local need, the excess will be taken to
the Sharing Center.
Please pray for the hungry in our community. If you would like to help with the
distribution of food, call the church office and leave a message with the secretary.
The pantry is open from 3:00 – 4:00 on Thursday afternoons, but we can also
use some volunteers who would be able to shop or to help keep the pantry organized.
How can you get help?
The hours of operation for Christ’s Table are from 3:00 – 4:00 on Thursday
afternoons. You can also call the church office at 254-6363 and leave a message
with the secretary.
