Precepts Class
The concept of Precepts Bible Study is to dig deep into the meaning of the books
of the Bible. We are encouraged to study each sentence, each nuance of meaning for
ourselves before we go into checking out other interpretations.
We use Kay Arthur’s “How to Study Your Bible” as our method of
study. As Kay says in her book, “The main requirement in learning to study
the Bible inductively is the willingness to slow down and really look at
what the Scripture is saying.” The slowing down process involves three component
parts: observation, interpretation, and application.
Observation –What does the passage say?
Interpretation –What does the passage mean?
Application –How does the passage apply to me?
We are studying the book of Judges. We are encouraged to speak our thoughts about
how we interpret the meanings of the words and their applications. St. Paul's looks
forward to continuing studying the Bible in these courses and we invite interested
all to join us on Wednesday mornings, 9:30 a.m. in Room 107.
